Basically the same thing as r/100yearsago but it's so we can start posting WW2 news stories in 2019 rather than 2039. It covers social, political, military and cultural developments in combatant countries and noncombatants alike. Its particular emphasis is on pointing out the most striking similarities and differences from the problems humanity faces today.
