The focus of this community is to raise awareness of parathyroid diseases and provide support to people who have (or suspect they have) one of these diseases. Four parathyroid glands in the neck produce the parathyroid hormone that determines the level of calcium in your blood. If one or more glands become overactive, other systems in the body can be affected, causing a variety of symptoms.
