This page is dedicated to the UK charts between 1979 and 1989. Why start with 1979? Because by then, the 80s were already creeping in - the first signs arriving in the summer of that year. Here, I’ll be exploring every single chart entry in the UK Top 75( expanding to the Top 100 from 1983) beginning with the very first week of January 1979(including late 78 holdovers) and running all the way through to the final week of December 1989.
