Content atomization
Breaking ideas into reusable factual units that can be retrieved alone: a definition, a number, a limit, a date.
Related to chunking. Atomization is editorial: one claim per block. Chunking is also a retrieval split.
Atoms should still read like English, not a knowledge-base dump nobody trusts.
Examples
- A “Limits” atom: “API rate limit is 120 req/min per key, measured 2026-04.” That atom gets quoted.

Chunking is writing sections that still make sense if a retriever lifts 100–300 words and ignores the rest of the page.
Headings, lists, tables, consistent fields. Machines and skimmers both win. Not the same as stuffing JSON-LD.
