llms-full.txt
llms-full.txt is a fat Markdown dump of site content for models that want one file instead of a crawl.
Helpful for documentation. Easy to ship secrets, outdated prices, and gated chapters by accident. Generate it from the same source as the site, not from a leftover wiki.
It does not replace HTML pages. Many bots will never fetch it. Think of it as a courtesy copy.
Examples
- A framework docs site concatenates markdown into llms-full.txt. Coding agents love it. Your marketing homepage does not need this file.
Related terms
AGENTS.md is a repo or site file that tells coding or browsing agents how to work with a project: commands, conventions, pitfalls.
llms.txt is a Markdown file at the site root that tells AI crawlers what the site is and which pages to read first. It is not a second robots.txt with legal teeth.
Headings, lists, tables, consistent fields. Machines and skimmers both win. Not the same as stuffing JSON-LD.
FAQ
One file for the whole marketing site? +
Usually a bad idea. Curate. The “full” dump is for docs and product surfaces that already live in Markdown.
