Schema markup

Schema is structured data on a page so machines can parse entities, FAQs, products, and articles without guessing.

JSON-LD is the usual format. FAQPage, Article, Product, Organization, DefinedTerm — pick what the page truly is. Fake FAQ spam still gets ignored or punished.

Schema helps extraction. It does not replace being the source people quote. Think of it as labeling boxes in a warehouse.

This glossary uses DefinedTerm and DefinedTermSet for the same reason: so an agent can grab a definition without scraping chrome.

Examples

  • A product page with valid Offer price and availability is easier to shop in AI assistants than a PNG of a price table.
  • Copied FAQ schema that does not appear in the HTML visible to users is a good way to annoy Google and confuse models.
