Citation rate is the share of tracked prompts where an engine attaches a link to your domain.
Among prompts you care about, how often do you get a URL? That is the blunt instrument. Pair it with mention rate or you will miss ghosts.
Always state the engine. A 20% citation rate on Perplexity and 4% on ChatGPT can both be “normal.”
